What distinguishes
me from other wedding photographers? My
sensibility as an exhibiting artist
guides my wedding pictures away from cliché toward revelation. Art museums owning my photographs in their permanent collections include: Yale
University Art Gallery
Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Center for Creative Photography, Tucson Brooklyn Museum of Art Arizona State University Art Museum I'm represented by Newman Popiashvili Gallery, New York City. My photographs are exhibited internationally in museums, galleries, and art fairs. See a Web site devoted to my work as an artist here. I've received artist's fellowships from The MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, and the NYU/Tisch School American Photography Institute. I hold an M.F.A. in Photography from ASU and a B.A. in Philosophy from Harvard. Fusing photojournalistic reflexes and portraiture skills with an artist's insight, I make people look good–in pictures that make people think. My approach is to photograph a wedding with unobtru- sive attentiveness to gestures, interactions, and allegorical details. I shoot spontaneously and edit thoughtfully to craft a distinctive series emphasizing the particular warmth, personality, and romance of your wedding day. |
